What is the roudel/insignia of WWI us air corps?

I have read an article recently and it said that during WWI us air corps (American Expedition Force) used a kind of circular insignia consist of three color, from outside to the inner is red, blue and white. But from us museum I saw the US air plane used in WWI was painted with a different insignia of which the color is (from outside also) blue, red and white. Which is the correct insignia really used in WWI? Can anybody tell me the right answer?

It might not be. They could have used both roundels at different times.
