What are the options for taking out Pakistans Nuclear Capability

If Pakistans current dictator is overthrown and a coalition of Islamists gets into power, how safe is Pakistans Nuclear stockpile?
Would that be a state of affairs that India/US would tolerate?

When was the last time an anti-western/US govt exist in Pakistan? Shah's Iran and current Pakistan are totally different situations.

I am sure there are plans for the worst case scenario but in my IMO, it would be very difficult to do.

This thread might get too political for Webs and the mods.

As for getting too political, various threads exist on Iraq, Iran, Russia ect that stray into politics, and are modererated, thats what mods are for no?

As far as I know Pakistan Nukes are stored unassembled, would it be possible to spot moves to assemble them?

Given the assests currently in the region plus the large numbers of SF next door do you think it would be possible to prevent the assembly of them?

This is one topic we discuss with our teacher who is someone very closer to NCA perhaps.

I'll come to what he says later but 1st let me point few things here out.

There is no chance of Terrorists taking over Pakistan.
There is no way Terrorists "can" take over Pakistan.

The nuclear weapons of Pakistan cannot be fired by the President or the Prime-Minister by just pushing the button. They have to hold meeting with NCA commanders before pushing button - which is actually with NCA & not the President or PM (its only the President &/or PMs Finger). In case of emergency (e.g: another nuclear state has carried out attack & President &/or PM cant reach the NCA than its upto the NCA commanders)

Hence even if some fanatic comes to power through democratic procedure he cant fire the nukes, unless NCA agrees with it.

Who control NCA? They are the top level professional military men & scientists who know the cost of using nukes.

Some times I am really amazed that are western people that ignorant?
Anyways coming to my teacher's word & I quote "even if one of the missile survives you know where it would go ... hence it establishes a credible deterrence" - - - in other words there is possibly no way of getting Pakistani nuclear weapons, especially since no one knows their location (especially the non-state actors).


Why the so called terrorists cant get their hands on the nukes?

1. They can never be elected in large numbers, infact they can never be elected at all since they come from politically administered regions & not the political constituencies (hence they cant even run in the elections).

2. They don't knw the locations of the Missiles/Warheads.

3. Even if they find nukes they can't fire it since they don't have device nor access to NCA.

4. Pakistani nuclear facility are so secured that it makes you wonder that if uranium enrichment facility is so secured than how secure are the weapons. To simplify, you would either come back dead or a living-dead.
