Just curious as to whether anybody has some insight in which may have an advantage over another via capacity, range, performance, ect.

It might help to clarify what you mean by "best" although often these types of threads get into size measuring constests. Also if there were more info on the size of what you mean by utility helicopter. The helicopter I consider most impressive from a transport/utility perspective would have to be the
Mi-26 'Halo' given it's cargo capacity.

For cargo i pick Mi-26

I guess I should have been more specific. What I am looking for is the most effective Medium lift troop trasnport helo in terms of range, hot and high performance, and troop cabin ergonomics
