hi all. i just found out that the us navy plans to decommission the USS Belleau Wood (LHA 3) on October 28, 2005. does anyone know why? the USS Makin island is a couple of years away yet so i wouldnt imagin that its to make way for that, and why not the first ship of the class the USS Tarawa. I thought that they needed to maintain 12 ARGs.
