This is a interesting question I came up with, and this is strictly comparing Turkish and British armies and who would win on land but if you would like to include overall military strength do so if you please, but please be respectful and open-minded about capabilities of both military powers.

Sounds like this vs. that thread mate. That’s not cool around here; too much emotive crap will without doubt pollute a discussion like this, as fun as they may be.

well it is actually a surprisingly hard question and one that may not be relevant now but in the future you may have something
if it were to day versus future UK has an air superiority advantage with the Eurofighter with Turks F-4 F-16 and such would be a tough win but due able for the Brits
Navel again the Brits and Turkey well matched however i am assuming the Brits are doing the invading the Brits again have a way advantage as it has landing craft whereas the Turks do not have a major landing force current turk fleet versus the turk would be a struggle but i would assume the Brits would fast track the Type 45 and reactivate the entire Invincible class watch has landing capabilities i don't thing they would gain complete the navel superiority but i do think they maybe able to land some forces after that WOW!!!
the Turkish army compared to Brits ouch the Brits would have to have like 6 years of shack and awe to win this war Brits have an awesome air force and navy but land its good but no numbers so it would be a long fight i am talking Long
Size does matter and i am not sure the Brits army size is big enough!

souse that this may someday happen

One word - SSN. The Turkish fleet would not venture out of port, it does not have the capacity to mitigate the UK's fleet submarines. So if the Naval option is out they will have to march through Europe and cross the English Channel via the Euro Tunnel? Not sure the Germans and French will go for that?

Turkey may have the second biggest army in NATO, but it has a very limited logistics capacity to sustain an overseas campaign against a foe, which does not border its territory.

Totally irrelevant thread as both parties are members of NATO.

Only conceivable flash point being Cyprus, and if the Turks attempted to take the UK air-base and Intelligence gathering facilities then the conflict would be a Greek/UK vs Turkey affair.

Closed thread due to it being a vs. thread. This type of thread is specifically prohibited in the forum rules because all too often, the topic ceases to discussed with logic and factual information, instead arguments become based upon emotion and nationalistic or cultural pride. Such discussions do nothing to further the knowledge of DefenceTalk members or the public, hence the prohibition.
