Yes, Piaggio rolled out the first P.180MPA in 2015, a variant with more wing span, but still not foldable. The P.180 has enough speed and range, and being compact makes this aircraft quite suitable as a naval AEW/MPA/ASW aircraft for aircraft carriers.

Yes, and not only the wings need to be redesigned, also the landing gear and parts of the fuselage need to be strengthened. It will need years and quite a large budget.
