Does anyone know anything about the new APC Israel is developing? All I know is that it is called the Wolf and is designed to get soldiers to urban areas comfortably and quickly. It is not made from old MBT bodies.

"The Wolf's main goal is to supply the IDF with the ability to act fast and efficiently, on wheels, in urban and hostile areas, without being vulnerable to fire like other chain-based APC's.
The Wolf is a heavily armoured crew carrier, manufactured by "Hatehof" company, which combines the best of both worlds – commercial truck's speed and maneuverability, and APC-like armour. These features make it ideal for low-intensity confronts, in which it may be more useful and safe.

The Wolf's chassis is based on a FORD F-550 truck, and is equipped with a 6-litre V8 engine, outputting 325 BHP. The engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic Transmission which drives all four wheels (4x4).

The designers bought the truck for $42,000 and started in the modification program. the body was removed, and the armoured crew carrier has begun to be built. At first, a wood model was built, then a steel one. The armoured protection was built in a double-side configuration. All of the armour building was accompanied by ballistic experts from RAFAEL.

The added armour of 3 tons is not critical to the Wolf's overall weight since its maximum load is 8 tons. And since no major changes have been done to the chassis, except the addition of armour, the vehicle does not suffer from engine overheating or handling problems.

The Wolf weighs approximately 8 tons, and can carry a crew of up to 12 personnel. It's hull can replace the air in it in 20 seconds, in case toxic gases are released in the cabin when firing from it .

Along with the crew, two stretch beds can be carried. All of the doors of the vehicle are bullet proof, including the engine and gearbox compartments. The doors are designed for a quick getaway, and a camera enables the driver and commander to control the vehicle's rear part. The Wolf features run-flat tires which can function dozens of kilometers in case of a flat tire.

The designers at "Hatehof" have managed to keep the Wolf's major parts original, in order to reduce costs. The only change was in the rear axle, and the tires."

Just another beefed-up commercial truck with light armour. There are more of these things than you can shake a stick at.

It's a wheeled vehicle, does this imply that this isn't meant as a means of re entering Lebanon?

These thing dont connect to each other. There are plenty roads in Lebanon - so even simple truck will have zero problems moving there. Besides, IDF still have enouth heavy APC and still buys more.

Are you sure you could fit 12 soldiers inside this thing? looks kind of small to me.....
Also looks like you could open it with a tin opener, looks like it was designed to confront stone throwing kids, not hamas or fatah.

yeah,I would prefer IDF Achzarit. That's not something to be easily destroyed. Although the capacity only 10 person.
