For some reason I cant post the Image but I can put in the link. I'll upload these images in your gallery! In the mean time here is more pics!
This is the TYPE 15 DELHI CLASS, its one of India's best and Indian made!

The displacement on the best is 6700 tons, currently three are in service and India is not interested in making more but is developing a follow up, BANGALORE CLASS with help of the drunk russians (jk) and "enhanced stealth capabilities and features. The new ones will hold Brahmos for sure.
Not as great as the other ones but can still hold its own. RAJPUT {KASHIN II} CLASS will hold the new Brahmos! India has 5 in service. Made in India.

NILGIRI CLASS has a displacement of 4900 tons it is the enlarged version of the Russian Talwar. These are new stealthy multi-role surface combatant for the 21st century. India wants 12 of these monsters and has is developing one with the Russians. visit...
TYPE 16 GODAVARI CLASS. Not much can be said exept they have lots of Western tech and Russian/Indian designs. India has 3 in service and currently working on the better verison the PE 16A BRAHMAPUTRA CLASS.

TALWAR {KRIVAK III} CLASS are probabiliy the pride of the fleet. India has two and one more are on the way. These Guided-Missile Frigates are simply one of the best! 3850 tons is the displacement.

PE 16A BRAHMAPUTRA CLASS is the better one of the Indian Guided-Missile Frigates. One is in service and two are being built.

The Admiral Gorshkov is a nice loking ship.Though I still have my doubts about the safety of the skijump aircraft launch deck.If any pilot were to start moving his machine before the requisite thrust for takeoff could be reached :eek splash!.Now you tend to get less of those problems with cat equipped carriers which just push the jet into the air.

LOL that INS Viraat used to be a Royal Navy aircraft carrier called Her Majesty's Ship Hermes...thats so old. We used it in the Falklands War before we sold it to you ;)

What's your point?

During the Falklands War in 1982, the RN was all concerned about the Argies' carrier Veinticinco de Mayo, bought in 1968 from the Dutch navy (RNthN Karel Doorman, R81), who had acquired her in 1948 from ... the Royal Navy, where she had started life as the light fleet carrier HMS Venerable in 1945. Having essentially been a hulk from 1986 onwards she was finally decommed in 1997 and scrapped in 1999. An enviable forty plus years of operational service...

The ship we know as Viraat/Hermes was first laid down 6/1944 but renamed 11/1945. However, construction was suspended following WWII and only resumed mid-1950's. She was commissioned as a light fleet carrier HMS Hermes (R12) on 25 Nov 1959. Had been scheduled for decommissioning, but was retained for Falklands service. Decommissioned to reserve 12 April 1984, was stricken for disposal 1 July 1985 and sold to India 19 April 1986 where she commissioned 12 May 1987 as INS Viraat (R22) and formally recommissioned on 15 Feb 1989.

By comparison, Viraat is today is in much better shape than Veinticinco de Mayo was at the same age.
