I saw this little article on Ares Homepage and thought I would posted it. The Su-25 is one of my favorite aircraft and was wondering if others heard anything about this? I was surprise I couldn't find any other threads for such a cool aircraft. I do remember going back a few years ago talk of a Su-39 maybe it will happen.
If You Want a Better Frogfoot..

Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant (UUAZ) has begun flight testing the Su-25UBM, an upgraded two-seat trainer/attack version of Sukhoi's Frogfoot. The first prototype began flying on Dec. 6 at Cubinka, near Moscow, says UUAZ. This aircraft is to be handed over for state tests by year-end, with a second to follow in 2009.
According to UUAZ, which has produced all the two-seat Frogfoots, the Russian defence ministry is "exploring the possibility of purchasing of a batch of Su-25UBMs". And the company says it has developed a plan to start serial production of the Su-25UBM and the upgraded, single-seat Su-25TM, which apparently is also known as the Su-39 (sorry, I can't make sense of Sukhoi designations).
The Su-25UBM productionizes upgrades retrofitted to in-service Russian air force Frogfoots to produce the Su-25SM. One of the proposals made by Sukhoi is to upgrade the Su-25UTGs used by Russian naval aviation to provide carrier landing training. Blimey, I hope I got all those designations right...
