Created In 1881 as The Ceylon Light Infantry Volunteers, The Sri Lanka Armed Forces is the overall unified military of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka encompassing the Sri Lanka Army, the Sri Lanka Navy, the Sri Lanka Air Force which comes under preview of the Ministry of DefenceThe total strength of the numbers around 230,000 active personal who have voluntary joined, since military draft have never been imposed in Sri Lanka.
