Potential replacements for Victory class corvettes? The trend seems to be that the RSN is going for bigger ships for off-shore operations. The stealth frigate on top has more vls cells than the Formidable it seems. But like some posters have said, she looks like an up-stealthed and lengthened Formidable class frigate. But that seems to give it more room for more vls silos.

I think the RSN would already be thinking of potential replacements to be built next decade. The victory class were built in the late 80s. In the last major upgrades, 16 (vls) Barak missiles were added. They only had chaffs(?) previously.

It makes a big difference if the VLUs on the models are for Barak or Mk41/Sylver: 1 8-cell unit of the latter takes up about as much area on deck as 4x1 8-cell units of Barak.

The vlus on the stealth frigate model are definitely not barak missile launchers just by looking at the dimensions of that thing. Sylver more likely or Mk41.

I believe the RSN will definitely procured a multi mission deivative of Horizon

stealth figates to replace her Victory MCV's.

Perhaps the STM developed stealth corvettes are intended to replace the

RSN 11 patrol vessels.

It does make strategic sense for the RSN to procure larger and more

advanced vessels for the future.

Does the RSN participates in developing the Swedish new generation

A26 SSK?Any links to this question?

Are there plans ot upgrade the 4 Landsort MCMV's? Even the Swedish navy

had completed their upgrade project on their MCMV's.

Lastly, does the Formidable FFG equipped with secondary armaments?

Such as a naval remote weapon station?

Any links?

Cheers!
