I have finished watching a replay of an Olympic Basketball game and I was wondering something. What sort of security measures did Great Britain take for the 2012 Olympics? I know they pretty much mobilized the SAS and had plain clothes agents walking around the streets and crowds along with moving a Destroyer up the Thames to provide one of several things, a power demonstration to let people know they were safe, to provide a base where Anti-Air units could coordinate, the obvious factor for having its firepower nearby to bolster defenses, and to perhaps provide a safe place for British and foreign dignitaries in case of emergency. I also heard that the most formidable SAM umbrella in Europe was established for this event and that several British Divisions were moved close to London ready to roll out and secure the city if anything bad happened. Are these things true?
Another thing as well, what is Russia doing to step up protection of the Olympic sight next time? Will we be hearing reports of Russian Shock Armies trolling the country-side? Will there be flyovers by Russian Migs and Sukoys every day? In short what can we expect?
