Prince Khalid bin Sultan patronizes Saudi U.S. joint maneuver
King Faisal Military City, Khamis Mishait, Saudi Arabia, February 26, SPA -- Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs, today patronized the closing session of the Saudi U.S. joint military maneuver, nicknamed "the enthusiastic leader" held at King Faisal Military city field.
In a press statement following the event, Prince Khalid bin Sultan stated that joint training sessions are customary among the world's militaries to upgrade the preparedness of the parties involved.
He said this year's maneuvers are the start of intensive training courses following preparations which lasted more than five years including joint maneuvers for land, navy and air forces with Arab, Islamic and friendly forces .
He cited the joint training between Saudi and U.S. forces named "the Red Flag" held in the U.S. recently.
He said preparations were underway for six months leading to today's four-week "enthusiastic leader" training.
He underscored the importance of advanced know-how in the military, announcing that similar joint training sessions will be held in Pakistan, Egypt and other friendly countries in the near future.
In response to a question, he said "the Peace Sword" maneuver will be held in Tabuk soon as preparations to hold the event are successfully underway.
