Saudi Egyptian Joint Air Exercise "Faisal-8" Begins In Taif

The Exercise begun in King Fahd Air Base in Taif by the participation of Saudi F-15's and E-3 sentry AWACS with all their crews and participation of Egyptian F-16's with all their crews. the EAF units reached KFAB since 18/3/2008.

its the 8th exercise in series of joint exercises between RSAF and EAF since 8 years to share experience and increase the combat readiness.

Great news! I hope they release alot pictures this time!

I wonder if these type exercises are aimed to help prepare the EAF and RSAF in a coalition-type war because Israel seems to think so.

IAF trains for battle against Egyptian, Syrian and Saudi Air Forces

While Israeli military analysts typically leave Saudi weapons systems out of
Arab-Israeli balance of power estimates, Israel Television Channel 2 news
revealed this evening that the Israel Air Force (IAF) is forming a "Red
Squadron" that will mimic the Egyptian, Syrian and Saudi air force in
training exercises for the IAF forces involving mock battles.

The Red Squadron pilots are fluent in Arabic and not only fly per the
doctrines of the Egyptian, Syrian and Saudi air forces but also speak in
Arabic over the radio as they engage in jamming communications.

Under the plan, twice a year Israel's skies will be divided into "red" and
"blue" zones for the mock battles.
