Hello,there is a weapon that has been used widely in military conflicts around the world,and has created much trouble even for coalition forces in iraq and afganistan,that weapon is called an IED am not in the military,so i dont know much about it can anybody please tell me more?

IED is an acronym for Improvised Explosive Device. It is not a weapon per se, it is a class of explosive devices that are used generally as mines. Depending on the area, availability of materials and the primary target(s) this can be anything from the proverbial 'pipe bomb' to one or more 155 mm howitzer shells which have been re-fuzed to detonate on command, and of course a whole slew of things in-between.
