The reason the Philippines had to buy equipment from South Korea, is that in the past the Philippines bought F-5s for $100 each from South Korea. The agreement goes that if you make this transaction, later on you have to buy more stuff from South Korea.
Now, from my records the Kazakh navy has bought 3 PKM patrol boats from South Korea for $100 each, so I'm wondering if this means that Kazakhstan may also be forced to buy more stuff from South Korea?
Also, does anyone know about Turkey buying the XK-2 as it says in this article? I haven't seen anything anywhere about this apparent sale (and yes i know about the K-9/T-155 Firtina sale and the KT-1 sale that's mentioned in the article).
Oh and any ideas about what 'military vehicles' that the article says that the Philippines bought from South Korea?
