Ok....
There is nobody interested in this???
Well, for those who are, Peru has been seeking to have its MiG-29s upgraded to SMT version in the past, so this money it will have going to the defence forces may well allow for the upgrade now.
That's a start (plz ppl don't be shy!)

What about Mirage 2000 upgrade ?

By the way, is the last remaining cruiser being at last retired ? With 8 Lupos operational the navy can at long last retire this 60 year old ship...

cheers

Peru

I'm interested in this but have heard there Mig-29 upgrade rumor for about three years now. When Peru's natural gas wells kick it more I think that will change. I also think if Ecuador pick up new equipment it also might speed the process up. I don't think Peru would invest too much into the Mirage 2000-Ps because of there numbers and picking up extra M2000 isn't easy, not too many sellers.

If Peru didn't want to go the Mig-29 route I wonder what other options would be open to them and in there price range? Typhoon would be out almost for sure and maybe even the Rafale as well based just on price, both would fill there military needs of course. Looking at Peru's borders and air force threats in the region any choice would have to be able to at least deal with Chile's Block-52 Vipers, not an easy feat. Does anybody think US fighters could slip in if the right gas deals or perks were set in place?
