ISLAMABAD, August 26 (Online): Pakistan Air Force has set up an Aeronautical Research Center (ARC) at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra for carrying out research to improve the effectiveness and reliability of existing weapon systems.
The center was inaugurated at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra by Air Vice Marshal Iftikhar A Gul, Deputy Chief of the Air staff (Engineering).
The Pakistan Air Force fleet is aging and needs extra ordinary efforts for maintenance. ARC will also offset the obsolescence, embargo and sanctions besides reducing reliance on foreign firms.
The center will also provide strength to the post graduate programme in the field of aeronautical engineering by generating practical oriented projects based on actual problems, thus contributing towards higher education in the country.
