I think the Guardian Griffin may be built for economic attrition warfare. It seems likely one of these could be produced cheaper than a MANPAD round, meanwhile it provides a stable platform to fire on soft positions. Small arms fire would only poke holes in cheap canvas wings. It seems smart to give this thing a the biggest radar crossection possible, to draw SA fire. If you lose one who cares? They have just spend more money than you spent on the entire unit shooting it down.
