Just like to add the following:
As most of you know, I come from a "warrior country". Every man above the age of 40 in my family has served in the old SADF. My grandfather served 40 years, dad was a combat medic, my stepfather was an engineer, and my various uncles served from basic infantry men to logistics, anti-tank specialists and as support with the "Recce's". I have loved weapons and all things military since I could remember. I am even considering enlisting in the British military (our military has become somewhat pathetic), and will make my decision at the end of this year as I am currently studying my first year nature conservation.

Any info on the modern South African military (however pathetic it may be compared to it's glory days!) you can share would be especially appreciated.
