Need help with these photos

Does anyone know if the device which is located at the very top of the centre mast, an ESM device or a comms device?

In the 2nd photo, there is a draped cable along the hull of the ship. Any idea what the cable is for? Thank you.

I can't help with the mast but the bow line (cable) belongs to the seaboat/rib and is needed whilst launching and recovering underway.

Yep, the line(cable) is the boat rope. When launching or recovering RHIBs you utilise this to keep the boat alongside before recovery. It keeps it on boats course, and hold in position to lower the davit or crane for recovery. If its too long the RHIB could drop back and flip, as has happened if not careful.

Thanks guys! I've always been curious as to what the bow line [cable] was for :).

That 1st photo shows an interesting arrangement for the top bits of the mast.

Typically, the highest point on a warship is used for mounting an ESM. However, in that particular photo, it seems the flattened bit (2nd highest thing on the mast) is the ESM. Or perhaps the ship is equipped with 2 different sets of ESM?
