NASA's Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) Boeing-747 prepares to land on the flightline at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., December 2022. SOFIA was always a popular aircraft every time she ventured to Christchurch in NZ. Always used to see her when she was here. Was sad to see her leave for the last time last year. Haere ra, SOFIA.

indeed real sad to see this beauty making his last flight... I was lucky to catch it as well during his last visit to Germany. But the good news is she is saved for the future as it is heading for the Pima air and space museum

Yep, great to see her being saved. She is an unique aircraft.
