Hi Guys,
Like many of you, I think maritime affairs and naval operations are fascinating, especially when they swirl about the Indian Ocean. So what's your take on the exchange of heat between India and Pakistan, in respect of obvious regard to MV Suez (which is now been claimed by Davy Jones and put away in his locker and loss to everyone, except Joney Dave).
Personally, I think both India and Pakistan fringe lunatics at their very least and probably deserve each other. That said I have some intriguing thoughts on the Godavari-Babur affair. Why would any ship that was busy giving aid to the Suez, get so uptight if another source of assistance appeared? Is that only an usual Indo-Pak tiff or did Babur have something going on that it didn't want anyone else to see. Why did Godavari want to see whatever there was to be seen in the first place? Are these two loonies going to continue their Praying Mantis dance forever?
Since, MV Suez was an Egyptian flag vessel, why was Pak so deeply involved in the negotiations with the pirates in Somalia? What was in it for them? How did the Suez after having proved her engines and having been asked by her owners to go to Aden and later to Salalah suddenly end up sinking when she was just off Salalah?
I saw a video of the Captain of the Suez opening the ship's underwater valves. What on earth was he doing? Why would anybody deliberately sink a ship? To whom would the Insurance money go ? What was the Pak Navy's share? We know they aren't very good at being on the make, so are they making up by being on the take? Why couldn't the Suez, which had run out of Gas, simply have been towed into Salalah by Babur?
In another video clip there was this Mullah type Doc (I think he was the Pak Navy type giving attention to the crewman on the Suez with whole lot of gun toting commando types hovering over him. What were THEY doing? Who were they protecting the Doc from? The Patient ? or were they not protecting but actually threatening ?
Is all this simply my fevered imagination at work or does Robert Ludlum have a plot at hand for his next book? Any thoughts guys ??
