Muscle Armor

I heard a rumor that in the next ten years someone is going to release a type of body Armor that is more resistant to bullets and uses electrical impulses to enhance muscle strength. Has anyone else heard about this? Sorry if another thread is already on this topic I couldn't find it and there isn't a search feature.

Funnily enough, yes. But where did the rumor come from? Non-Commissioned or Comissioned?

Anyway, there is a whole variety of ways you can use electricity and materials to do the stuff you are suggesting (in theory) and there are a number of research programs looking at;

  1. increasing ballistic resistance
  2. using electrical impulses in such a way as to assist the wearer
  3. conformal shaping

It may sound like science-fiction, but it's true. There are a number of programs working toward this goal. I believe the US army recently tested an exoskeleton, and I've been hearing about this guy making a grizzly-suit for at least the last decade.
