Even tough Lockheed Martin won the contract to build the JSF, what company do you think will be the governments company to build future fighter jets?
I seriously doubt that the US will ever build another manned fighter. The future lies with UCAV's and TUAV'squicksilver said:Even tough Lockheed Martin won the contract to build the JSF, what company do you think will be the governments company to build future fighter jets?
The main ones are XC-45 and XC-47. There are numerous others in development. Have you looked up their site?armage said:I saw this program on Nova that talked about the JSF competition, in the end it said that even though Lockheed Martin won Boeing might get the next contract because they are already ahead in UCAVS technology.
Anybody got any articles or source about what type of UCAVS Boeing is building?

Anyway, the US doesn't want to get stuck with just one company that builds fighters, so that's why everything ultimately gets shared between LM and Boeing. Boeing is very good at building AC, but their fighter designs just aren't quite there yet, imo. The Boeing version of the JSF looked like a pregnant slug to me, lol. When Boeing acquired McDonnell Douglas, they got the F-18 and F-15 along with the rest. They weren't in the fighter business before that. I tend to trust LM's designs over Boeing, but like I said, Boeing is very good at production, so much of the F-22 and JSF are built by Boeing, even though they are technically LM aircraft.
