My money was always on the AW149, it was a political not a military decision.
It must be a nightmare being a supplier dealing with the MoD, the initial requirement is for 44 x helicopters and now the requirement could be as low as 25, obviously the unit price for 25 helicopters is going to be higher than 44 helicopters.
