Boo-yah!
Aybat, Semser and Nayza = extremely interesting.
This comes on the heels of past reports (2004) of Kazakhstan developing the "Kazy" torpedo for export and the help Kazakhstan has provided to India regarding its Navy in the past. In that report it was only mentioned that Kazakhstan was seeking to increase sales, rather than this recent update regarding its ambitions to sell equipment internationally.

What kind of customers can we expect for these systems?
Surely the market is already saturated for most legitimate artillery systems?

Kazakhstan developing naval systems? All I can say is wow :)

As for artillery, that doesn't seem too improbable. After all the article mentions licensed technology copied from Israel and close cooperation with Russia on development (all the way up to using existing Russian ammunition for the new artillery systems).

Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan have expressed interest in the systems. Obviousy Azerbaijan doesn't exactly require any more equipment from any sources, let alone Kazakhstan, but they have been "casting the net wide" so to speak recently (have signed quite a few miltech co-op agreements. Whether this is actually an attempt at causing Armenia uneasiness diplomatically rather than an actulai nterst by the Azeris in the respective countries systems remains to be seen). So, that basically leaves Kyrgyzstan and... maybe Turkey?

I had no clue that Kazakhstan was developing weapons systems. Good for them!:) I don't know if Turkey would be interested in this because we already come up with this stuff by ourself.
