Intro

Kia ora, which is gidday in Maori.

I'm ngatimozart and have been a bit slack in the intro department. I actually joined a year ago. I served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force from 1974 until 1982 as a clerk reaching the giddy heights of Corporal. It is what the Americans call a REMF and that is not far from the truth. But I did serve my country and I got to do a lot of things that a lot of other Kiwis never got to do and yes I am proud of the uniform. So 8 years later in 1990 I joined the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve as a Seaman, and that was my best time in uniform.

Now I am a geographer and I am studying post grad at university learning Maori culture to complement my scientific skills. My areas of interest are coastal science and climatology with a specific interest in shallow water surveying (especially the surf zone), climate change and tsunami.

My person interests are geo & ocean sciences, aviation, the sea, defence issues and international relations.
