India show cased it's military power this year in it's republic day parade. The main attractions were of Indian Airforce inventory. India show cased a mock-up of yet-to-inducted Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS). The new AWACS from Israeli Aerospace Industries will fitted on a Russian made IL-76 aircraft as it's base.

I was there it was quite impressive... I was really waiting to Agni-III missile....

Ya I live in delhi... It was shortest parade because of fear of possible terror attack....
There were few tanks... But main attraction was airforce...

I saw th R-Day parade (although i dozed off a little:) during the cultural flotilas)- i too thought tht the parade seemed shorter thn usual ( i chided myself for sleeping though :))

Anyways i reason i posted is beacause the link by icekid stated tht th chief guest was the french president - this wrong the actual chief guest was Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

From the defence equipment wht was displayed was T-90s, T-72s, BMP-IIs, Brahmos mobile launchers, Agni-3, Mobile radar units, a naval mock up of the Jalashawa, Brahmos (naval version) etc the air contingent were IL-78s, An-32s and Dorniers in one formation, an air to air refueler with a couple of Su-30MKIs in tow, 5 fighter unit of Jaguars, Dhruvs, Mi-35s also the mock up of the new AWACS with SU-30MKI as well as ROHINI radars The parade ended with a 3 unit of Su-30 MKIs performing aerial maneuvers
