the specifications of the two air crafts are as below comparing their differences
source-(wikipedia/edited)
[
dassault Rafael ------------------ eurofighter typhoon

Rafael'-
positives''s-
1)being a complete french developed one , the transfer of technology will be easy
2) carrier based version can also be considered for IN future carriers.
3)newley developed radar and further new engine could be fitted by the time of supply
4)IAF had previous good experiences operating dassaults mirages.
5)france is a good and relaiable coustomer of india .
negatives's-
1) the sale of defence eqipments to pakistan can have an negative impact
typhoon-
positives-
1)developed by consortium of 4 european nations, and so the diplomatic pressure could be
2) an advantage of extra thrust vectoring, than its competitor Rafael
3)allowing india to be a partner in the euro fighter programme, which may be use full to gain knowledge for indian future aircraft's
3)high improved radar will be provided in the later supplying aircrafts.
negatives-
1) costly units which may costs 30mill$/unit above rafale
2)transfer of technology can create problems
note;- indian government is also considering an option for ordering an excess of 70 units which will make the total units be 200
in my opinion the IAF should opt for "typhoon"
because if india becamos partner in the programme the technology could help india in building its future projects, also it creates many thousands of direct job opportunities and many more through indirect companies in india.
