INDIA denied any of its aircraft had intruded into Pakistani air space, as tensions ran high between the nuclear-armed South Asian neighbours over the Mumbai attacks.
"There has not been any airspace violation as has been alleged,'' Wing Commander Mahesh Upasani, spokesman for the Indian Air Force, told AFP.
The Pakistan government earlier said it had confirmed the incident with India, which blames elements in Pakistan for the devastating Mumbai siege.
"We contacted the Indian air force and they said the violation was inadvertent. We don't want to escalate the situation,'' Pakistan's Information Minister Sherry Rehman said.
Relations between the two countries have deteriorated in the wake of the attacks, in which 172 people died.
India this week called Pakistan the "epicentre'' of terrorism and demanded it do more to crack down on militant groups on its soil, but ruled out military action.
Pakistan's air force said Indian jets flew over the Pakistani-administered part of Kashmir and the eastern city of Lahore, both places where the militant group India blames over the attacks is active.

I think mumbai attacks are very much planned and coordinated as 9/11 attacks.Militery groups in pakistan dont have this type capability to cross indian boarder and attack inside indian cities without the assistance of Pakistan.
Pakistan can not afford another venture because already they are busy in NWFP to control terroruism .
I think these attacks are planned inside india by any seperatist groups or by terrorist group of Israel to creat oppurtunity for india to destroy nuke asset of pakistan.
