Identify weapon

Hi!

I have to identify a hand weapon and would need assistance.

Specifications:

mass 920g/32,452oz
weapon lenght 173mm/6,81inch
caliber 12.3mm/0,48inch,0.5
height 136mm/5,354inch
wide 44mm/1,732mm

starting bullet velocity 350m/s


Does anyone know this weapon, this is not a quiz, I have to complete this task at a course and identify the weapon.

12.3 mm caliber for a handgun?? seems odd, too big a round
Wait did a litlle search is the caliber for the desert eagle; .50AE or the .500 SW.
Didn´t find any model of revolver or pistol that matches those dimensions and weight.

Should be, the weight and dimensions are a match. Only question is the bullet velocity. Never had heard of such a weapon. Nice article on those russian weapons.

Guys, thanks for the help.

I really appreciate it.

This is a task we got at the course I am attending this year, identify weapon, this data is all I got I have to find a match or at least similar handguns or weapons. At the start I thought because of the caliber this would be a sort of grenade launcher add-on on an assault rifle, am still checking it out.

Maybe it's a gun from the 19th century or so - just a thought.
It's really a difficult task. I hope you drop us a line when you get the answer.

Hi everyone again!

Thanks for your help guys, special thanks to onslaught for providing information about the UDAR revolver.

It was the correct answer, got a great grade and of course gave credits to this forum.:)

On the one hand I am very happy that I completed this task, but it seems I did a good job cos I got another task, a bonus task for my effort, d'oh!

So again, the specification

mass 950g
weapon lenght 210mm
lenght of barrel 114,5mm
caliber 9mm
height 142mm
wide 35mm

starting bullet velocity 460m/s

I am just looking through some weapon guides, so if anyone is interested or maybe knows, please reply.
