Some more questions about ATGMS...

I have conflicting statments concerning the HOT ATGM. Is there a HOT and a HOT 1? Or are they the same atgm just a reference error in my sources?

Any one know when the HOT 2T was accepted into service??

Thanks ---Kenny

OK so there is no "HOT" missile, it's true name is "HOT 1" - Right?

Yep right. Sometimes the HOT1 is being referred to simply as HOT. HOT2 went into production in 1985. The tandem charge-version HOT2T is in production since 1992.

aaaditya and turin,

Thanks for the data....

I also have info on an HOT 2MP (multipurpose warhead). Suppose to have better HE effects against soft targets than just a plain shape charge. Any notes on when it went into production?

Thanks ---Kenny

The multi purpose warhead was one of the main characteristics of the HOT2 and went into production right along with the missile itself. So there is no difference between HOT2 and HOT2 MP. The latter designation doesnt even exist AFAIK. Only other HOT2 is the already mentioned one with the tandem charge.
