Hoping to join the ADF

Hi Im new on this forum..Im wanting to join the ADF as a rifleman in the Army

I have completed my YOU session and I'm just waiting for my Assessment session to be announced...( could be in 4 months though )

I am a little bit nervous though .....As it is i tried Marijuana for the first time about 1 month ago....( Needless to say i wasn't a fan of it and I asked a friend to drive me home and off to bed i went after trying it )

Never again will i be trying that crap :mad:

I'm just wondering will this show up on my Urine sample that i must give on my Assessment day..??

Is the test a standard pee in a cup test and find out the result in a couple of minutes...or is it sent off to a lab to be looked at using high tech equipment ..????

I know it was a very stupid thing to do...but i did it and cant change the past....it was the very first time i had ever tried it and yes it is the last time that's for sure..

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It can take anywhere between a week and a month for THC to leave your system, so you should be fine.
Without wanting to get off topic too much here, I don't think you should be too quick to judge marijuana. It really doesn't have any proven lasting effects on your body; You're better off on marijuana than alcohol. I'd imagine smoking it can't be too great for your lungs over a period of time, definitely nowhere near as bad as smoking cigarettes, but I still like to either use a vapouriser or make it into a delicious baked treat (Truth be told, I can't cook to save my life, someone else always does it for me!). If you act like a responsible adult with it, there's no real harm.

But, if you have to take a drug test, then it most certainly isn't a good idea. Say what you like about legalisation, the fact of the matter is that it is outlawed. It's not worth having a nice, relaxing afternoon in exchange for possibly ruining your career. But if the test is months away, I wouldn't worry. If it's next week, then just explain the situation to them calmly and honestly.

And good work on getting someone to drive you home, you've officially got more sense than quite a few people in this world ;)
