I was wondering if any missile or torpedo tests have been done against modern thick steel. Polar Class 3 ship steel is 48mm thick. Obviously it's not thick everywhere, and not designed against missile strikes. But it's the closest I can think of to any ship having any thickness or steel toughness remotely approaching a battleship.

What about submarine pressure hulls? A lot of torpedos are designed to sink submarines, & I think that 48mm should be within the range they're designed to breach.

At least one cruise missile has been tested against a submarine, & did this -

The warhead is two stage. The first stage punched a hole through the hull, which the second stage flew through before exploding inside. I don't know the thickness of a Kilo-class's hull, but I expect it to be significantly thicker than that of a merchant ship, or destroyer.

Glad that SIGMA 10514 design still being developed and got new customers. Like Indonesia PAL, Columbia Cotecmar will build the design base on DAMEN license. It is bit bigger the Indonesia 10514.
So this is actually a SIGMA 10714.

Babcock and SAAB join forces to bring smaller variance of Arrowhead 140 call Arrowhead 120. This to enter Sweden requirement for new Frigate class.

Arrowhead 120 was Babcock's original submission for Type 31 - see this from 2017 - Arrowhead 120

They then took a gamble on the Royal Navy preferring a ship with more growth potential, & switched to Arrowhead 140, based on the Iver Huitfeldt class, which paid off. I think they've dusted off the 2017 design & tweaked it for Sweden, with Arrowhead 140 in reserve.

This article doesn't really fits in the Indo Pacific Strategy thread, the South China Sea thread or the Why ASEAN matters thread, so i just post it here.
