Food on a Submarine, The Wedge Cake

Sorry if my last post made no sense. In the early ninties I did research on the food that was prepared on WWII subs...I compiled every thing I could in an eight minute film. Here is one of the comments about it from one of my mentors.

Given the age of the boat that is a BIG galley. I know some Oberaon chefs that would have killed for so much space, not to menation the crew who have loved a mess room.

Ya I am checking that sea water for pasta idea, will get back.

That galley fed approx 80 members ,3 times a day...2 cooks,1 baker
30 loaves of bread a day......thats pretty dam efficient.

Next time I am out to the coast I'll do some experimenting.
However I swam the Hudson off Manhattan last year when tide was up and the water was salty..believe me you wouldn't want to cook anything in that...unless I get thrown overboard in it , I 'll never get back in that water...it was sick.
