A nice series of shots taken from the chase plane of an F-22 conducting drop tank tests.
The USAF currently has 51 platforms. 7 are on active flight training at Tyndall AFB
Yes they do, so the plane returns to a flush fit. They are making conformal mounts so as to reduce RCS visibility, but the bottom line will be that if the external load is not RCS'd to be sympathetic to the plane, then any stealth advantage will be reduced.umair said:Question gary, do the pylons come off with the tanks as well(stealth charecteristics related)?
Quite true. We usually fly with interior lighting set as low as possible. The lighting will also be "blue-green" because it will not interfere with NVG's and wont blow out your natural night vision.there's alot of Science behind the Contents of the Cockpit like Concentration can be affected by coulourfull bright flashing GUI etc. its like driving a car at night your Onboard instruments have to have a certain amount of illumination sufficient enough to get noticed but-not affect the vision of the driver nor should it distract the driver.
