WASHINGTON [MENL] -- A North Korean missile shipment to Syria was halted when a train collision in that Asian country destroyed the missile cargo and killed about a dozen Syrian technicians.

U.S. officials confirmed a report that a train explosion on April 22 killed about a dozen Syrian technicians near the Ryongchon province in North Korea. The officials said the technicians were accompanying a train car full of missile components and other equipment from a facility near the Chinese border to a North Korea port.

"The way it was supposed work was that the train car full of missiles and components would have arrived at the port and some would have been shipped to Syria while others would have been transported by air," an official said.

Officials said the North Korean shipment to Syria was not meant to have contained chemical or biological weapons. They said foreign rescue crews summoned to the train explosion did not report any chemical contamination.

Dont count your chickens just yet. Americans and Israelis arent always this lucky! I'm pretty sure that if this was a Syrian-North Korean transaction, then another one might've been placed just days after this one got messed up. :cop

I know that the MOSSAD is notorious for such actions but i doubt that it could have been them this time! By the way, the cover up story was pretty good right? I mean they say that the train had feul and it exploded on impact. But could it be that N.Korea and Syria set this up on purpose so that N.Kroea could get sympathy and later really export the missiles to Syria? I guess its just a means to divert the attention because this transaction must be really big. Time will tell!!

You can't blame them you know. This kind of accident is in fact seem suspiciously coincide. There is 2 fact that i think can be argue here.

1. The missile is for Syria and as we know, Syrians have been a traditional opponents to the Israel. this missile is a boost to the Syrians offensive capability and a direct threat to the Israel and more if it comes with NBC warhead. Israel have every reason to stop this shipment.

2. The Mossad have been known to pull this kind of operation before and there is little doubt that they are capable of pulling this kind of things now.

It seems to me that GF here is a good realist. But he may be not a good intel mind. Intel people always look at any posibilities. As long as it's not impossible, then it's possible no matter how improbable it seems. Or maybe GF just pretend to be a realist in here. are you?
