Does Iran's Army still fight like this?

Hi, Big-E

Please clarify the origin of your most informative video, because, may I say, it's an interesting one, but is it an old one of combat against Iraqi MBTs, or one of Iranian infantry training against own or captured MBTs? I found it strange that the MBTs were not accompanied by infantry support in the form of BMP-1s or the like. Also, I'm not sure whether that AK-47 or derivative shown at the end of the video was not carrying some form of blank firing attachment. If that is the case, then the RPG-7 firings could also be explained as being pactice rounds.

Thanks,

Alain

In Iran-Iraq War, Iran made a big mistake of ignoring their western equiped armed forces and relying instead on their fanatical lightly armed Revolusionary Guard. they did repulse several Iraqi attack but it cost them dearly. In the later part of the war we saw how the iranian used their armed forces to the utmost and gain the upper hand. the lesson is, morale alone wouldn't win you a war.

Big-E, I don't know about you, but the camera man should have gotten some sort of award for that footage! From what I understand about the Iraqi Army during that period it would explain why the Iranians are able to put alot of rounds down range at the hapless Iraqi's. Too bad there wasn't any footage of Iranian Cobra/TOW kills on Iraqi Armour or Iranian Airforce F-14 HUD Camera footage of Iraqi AirForce shootdowns too. I certainly hope that there weren't any western military advisors caught in that Iraqi Tank formation.

Saddam really under estimated the Iranian military and if it wasn`t for us and a few other countries bailing him out Iran would of gone in and taken over Iraq. Look how history is repeating itself with the exception that Iran won`t have to fire shot this time. America will be in Iraq for a very long time.
