Contour Makeup & Facial Recognition

Hello Folks

This is my first post. I'm a writer currently working on a thriller and I'm doing some research that I think somebody out there can help me with.

My question is: can you fool a facial recognition system using contour makeup (and I'm not talking about a Ronald Reagan rubber mask)?

Suppose the authorities are looking all over for my hero, who is on a mission to save the girl - naturally.

So if he's out and about looking for her and he ends up on CCTV, if he has applied some contour makeup will that fool the system?

Any help is appreciated.
