Can SeaWolf Block 2 Intercept ICBM?

I'm pretty certain that the British SeaWolf Block 2 can intercept ballistic missiles. Does anyone in the industry know whether it's capable of actually doing so?

I think that the Sea Wolf Block 2 is more a short range point defence missile, it is not in the class of the SM3 or the Aster 30. Max altitude (from memory) is 3000 meters.
So not capable of intercepting ICBMs, plus I doubt the fire control radars for the Sea Wolf are capable of tracking ICBMs.

No, ESSM has a range of 55km and SeaWolf has a range of 10 km. Then again ESSM is 6 times heavier.

Hi Defcon, I would be sceptical of that range figure for the ESSM if I were you. The actual range is classified, but from the more reliable sources I have seen, the range is between 15-20kms, which would sound about right as the ESSM is considered a short range defence missile to fit in between the Phlanax/Ram and SM2/3 in the USN layered defence.

Thxs for the info whisky. i hate it when they do that. I like SeaWolf better anyways. Do you think SeaWolf is pretty accurate as far as the info?

I had this idea that the U.S should import the SeaWolf and integrate it with Aegis. It has the ability to fire two salvo's right? More useful than RAM in my opinion.
