I'm a Ph.D student in media and communication at Goldsmiths in London, UK, and for my thesis I am looking at soldiers' YouTube videos to understand the transformation of the role of the soldier on the battlefield following the RMA, and the new technologies helping him on the frontline.
I'm currently working on videos shot from AH-64 Apache Helicopters and I'm trying to understand the on-screen data display of the gun camera. I tried to look on Internet but couldn't find anything, so I'm seeking for your help!
The top numbers: Altitude? Angle? the little frame with a dot moving: is it related to the position of the helicopter in relation to the zone it has to cover?
Sorry for these very basic questions, but it would help me greatly to understand how these cams work.
