AWD costs

Need help on reconciling the AWD costs.

At $8bAUS(6.7US) which works out to approx. 2.233 each it seems a
bit pricey.

OTOH it may include many costs not normally included in quoted costs by other nations.

Can anybody break down what any or all of the what 2.3233b nominal cost per ship is? And better yet how it compares to other nations similar type ships?

Thanks in advance for any info.

F-105 has a budget of 750 million € dedicated (more than 900 million $, may be 1200 AU$).
I suppose that a lot of new infrastructures must to be done at ASC facilities.
Here, in Spain, the press said that the AWD contract will suppose between 200 and 300 million € for Navantia (300-400 AU$, may be?) in support and tech transfer, the building itself made in Australia…

The cost has also come as a surprise in Australia. However, recent Australian defence acquisitions have had a lot of associated costs included in the budgets announced. The FA-18F Super Hornet purchase for example came in at $A6bn of which less than half was for the aircraft themselves. The rest included weapons, support infrastructure and ongoing costs for 10 years. We may have to wait for details of the contract to find what is included in the F100 deal but it may include the outfit of missiles, etc, along with spare parts and support infrastructure.

Cheers
