This is a attack-trainer aircraft manufactured in Argentina upon a german design (it's similar to Alpha Jet). It was offered to Bolivia but current economic situation in this country make this operation too expensive.

:!: :cop :!:

For one brief moment I thought it was an Alpha. ;)

I've always liked the smaller COIN/CAS aircraft that Argentina comes up with. Very useful and effective designs.

New version of AT-63 Pampa includes a APG-67 radar and another avionic and electronic components (RWR, HUD, etc.) It has been offered to Columbia Air Force as CAS/COIN.

Slick looking little plane! It does resemble an Alpha, do they share a design lineage?

Yes, Gremlin. Technical staff from Dornier helped the Argentine team in the design stage. Outcome became a really beautiful little plane. ;)

Chuck Yaeger once said that if a plane "looked" like it would fly great, it would. Based on that statement, I bet the AT-63 would be an excellent performer.

There you have a lot of pictures of IA-58A Pucara recently captured by an Argentine webmaster named Cazador.

All photos captured by Edgardo "Cazador" Alessio
