With tempers rising in the South Caucus, another war regarding the status Nagorno-Karabakh is imminent. OSCE Minsk has been trying to mitigate the situation for 20 years now, yet ceasefire is broken everyday and virtuallyno progress has been made. A military solution is the probably outcome.
In my opinion, Armenia/Karabakh would win such a conflict, as they did before. Azerbaijan had a stronger economy and larger army in '93 as well, but was destroyed by the Armenians ( I believe the ration of Azeris to Armenians killed was around 6:1). Nowadays, Azerbaijan is still technically "in the lead" by economic and military standards, but as we have seen that means little. Furthermore, Armenia has signed lucrative defense protocals with Russia, updgrading their weapon systems.
