Anybody got material concludes detail arma nd hand signal.

Many thx.:D
Always use the hand that does NOT carry your weapon. I f*ckin hate "movies" where they are attempting to be "tactical" and take their hand off their weapon to give a field signal. Why ANYBODY would want to do that is beyond me. Is your "NON" master hand not good enough???

It is also interesting to see that in movies they often enough raise their hand a little bit and do some complicated finger moves which are completely seen by the guy 20m behind them in heavy wood. :D

My kids know sign language... It is extremely cool when you are over 100m away and you sign to "stop", or "have you seen mom?", "did you see that deer?", "did you see that bird?", etc and they respond to what you sign.

When they are teenagers they will probably just flick the bird at me :D

anyway, you would be surprised at the distance at which you can communicate

cheers

I mean films were there is often no direct line of sight between the ones who response to the signs and the ones who act.

Every street march and every battlefield movement where radio is forbidden is conducted by hand signals.

I am talking about movies where the actor raises his hand while his chest is between his sgnals and the persons who follow him.

Oh - you must be talking about those old John Wayne movies. Everytime I watch one of these I could just imagine what good old John would do when someone started really shooting at him, he would be all assholes and elbows getting the hell out there.:eek:nfloorl:

It's not the fact that they pretend to be tactical to add some feeling of authenticity to the film, but that they use the wrong hand when flashing a hand signal which have the opposite effect.

For most of these movies the hand signals are not the biggest authenticity problem. :D
My vote goes for Chuck "roundhousekick" Norris movies! :nutkick :eek:nfloorl:

At least it's not as bad as the hand signals in American baseball. I wouldn't be suprised if they turned to MLB coaches as the set advisors. :eek:nfloorl:

Yepp, always use the hand that isn't on the pistol grip.
Exactly and considering the amount of "instinctive" shooting (I'm being generous here) they do, you'd think the non-firing hand would be a certainty for field signals, but no.

It must look cooler or more professional or something to take your hand OFF your weapon, take hold of it with your non-master hand and then give signals with your master hand...

You are right about swithing your hands (not very smart). I've learned that you make the hand signals with your left hand if right-shooter and your right hand if left-shooter, so then you always have one hand on the pistol grip and a finger just outside the trigger. What do you gain out of doing like this? Time, nobody wants to be second. But it's more important to have your weapon and eyes pointing the same direction, weather doing signals or just covering.

In Germany there are some signals for which you use both hands.
This is due to the fact that often enoug there are big gaps between the individual soldiers and it would take too long if the signal would have have to be showed from one soldier to the next.
You may have to let loose the pistol grip for some seconds but on the other hand the reaction of the group is faster.

Same as in Sweden. When your in the forrest and the enemy have a hard time spotting you and it can be hard spotting your own group so then you use your arms and big signals that the group passes on so everybody knows. We also use arm signals when communicating with other groups.
Then there's also some signals when you use your weapon, for example you're out of ammo in the middle of a skirmish, roll over on your back, point the pipe in sky and wave it in the air and shout ammo... had a bad experience a few weeks ago, ammo depleted I did this and seconds later I got a grenade on my helmet and a full magazine in my groin....
