, At the international Airshow Lavex’2007 (Libya), held on 29-31 October, Rostvertol PLC presented its Mi-35M combat helicopter.
About 95 companies from 25 countries took part in the 2-nd international Airshow LAVEX’2007. Russia was presented by FSUE Rosoboronexport, FSUE Salyut, Rostvertol PLC, Mig RAC, Sukhoi AHC, UMPO, Splav PLC.
At the united Russian exposition, deployed on the area of Maataga Airport, the audience within 3 days was able to evaluate the advantages of Russian aircraft: the Mig-29 fighter and the Mi-35M multipurpose helicopter.
Rostvertol PLC, for the first time participating in this Airshow, demonstrated the capabilities of its Mi-35M helicopter which performed three demonstration flights. In one of these flights a Libyan pilot acted as the navigator. After the flight he highly appreciated the Mi-35M helicopter performance, the capabilities of its equipment, and the airmanship of the Russian pilot V. M. Kalashnikov – an honored 1st class test-pilot.
The Mi-35M is an upgraded version of the world-famous Mi-24(35) helicopter. It is fitted out with a new rotor system of composite blades, X-shaped tail rotor of improved control efficiency and noise parameters. The airborne equipment includes a navigation and electronic indicating complex and up-to-date radios. The combat helicopters are fitted out with a multi-seat launching unit – APU-8/4-U. They can carry up to eight missiles in launching pods. The 9K113K ATGM complex has an OPS-24N round-the-clock observation/sight system with a GOES-342 gyrostabilized optronic station. The lights of the Mi-35M helicopter is adapted for crew’s application of night vision goggles.
Actually the Mi-35M is a new helicopter integrating rich experience of continuous combat usage and the latest achievements and developments in helicopter engineering.
