AP, Defense contractor Lockheed Martin said Friday that a team it leads received an Air Force contract worth up to $9 billion.
Under the five-year deal, the team will provide networking infrastructure, including telephone and information technology systems. Lockheed Martin did not provide financial details of the contract.
Other partners in the project include Lucent Technologies Inc., International Business Machines Corp., Fluor Corp., SBC Communications, Qwest Communications International Inc., Sprint Corp., Avaya Inc., NextiraOne LLC, World Wide Technology Inc. and privately held Abacus Technology Corp.
Shares of Bethesda-based Lockheed Martin closed earlier up 6 cents, or less than a percent, at $54.23 on the New York Stock Exchange.
