Korean Information Service, Korea's largest flag carrier Korean Air Co. said Monday (April 30) it has clinched a preliminary deal with U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing Co. to provide comprehensive maintenance and service for F-15K fighter jets.
Under the deal, Korean Air will offer a wider range of maintenance and services, including training of military maintenance personnel, for Boeing-made F-15K fighters in the Korean Air Force.
It is the first time for a private Korean airline to take part in such services for the country's military aircraft. The Korea's biggest airline has overhauled about 500 F-15 fighter jets of the U.S. Air Force at its maintenance unit in Gimhae, a coast city south of Seoul, since 1982.
