Korean Overseas Information Service, South Korea will hold talks with Vietnam, Thailand and Pakistan this month to discuss military procurement cooperation, the country's defense acquisition authorities said on Tuesday (May 2).
A five-member delegation led by Lee Jeong-won, head of the defense industry promotion bureau, departed for Vietnam earlier in the day for five days of talks, according to the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).
South Korea seeks to participate in Vietnam's upgrading of armored vehicles and its military truck project. The delegation is scheduled to pay a courtesy visit on Vietnam's vice defense chief and tour defense industry companies.
In Thailand, the delegation will take part in military cooperation talks, the 11th of their kind, to discuss how to expand South Korean company participation in Thai military projects, DAPA said.
On May 11, the delegation is too arrive in Pakistan to sign memoranda of understanding on cooperation in defense and military affairs.
“The three-country tour will focus on supporting the advance of South Korean defense companies into the markets,” DAPA said.
